Air Commodore Nick Lloyd joined Permanent Joint Headquarters (UK) in December 2016 as Assistant Chief of Staff J6. At Group Captain rank, he completed five appointments: two in the Ministry of Defence, one at Headquarters Air Command, one as Deputy Commander of the British Army’s 11th Signal Brigade and one as Commander Joint Force Communication and Information Systems in Afghanistan.
In 2015 he also completed an academic year at the Royal College of Defence Studies, where he studied international relations and strategy at postgraduate level. This was an extension to his master’s degree in defence studies, gained on Advanced Command and Staff Course in 2007 and followed by command of Tactical Communications Wing.
Prior to 2007, his employment spanned the full range of Engineer Officer (Communication & Electronics) appointments after joining the Royal Air Force as a University Cadet in 1986.
Nick is the current President of the AFCEA UK London Chapter.
